Gemma and David smiling together

Our story

Gemma and David met in Mexico on a tour group and found out they both lived in Kent. When they got home, Dave made the brave move of asking Gemma out for a drink (she was completely oblivious that he was even into her!). Their first date was meant to be Chinese hot pot, but they ended up staying at the cocktail bar all night, and to this day they've still never been for that hot pot. They both absolutely love travelling (it's how they met, after all!), so it was only right that Dave proposed in Central Park, New York City, one of their favourite cities in the world. They hope to keep exploring the world together for the rest of their lives.

We're doing things a little bit differently

Gemma and David have opted for a non-traditional twilight ceremony with a handfasting blessing (tying the knot!). They wanted to share the celebration with as many people as possible.

The basic stuff

Children

As much as we love your little ones, we want you to be present and have a good time. We have opted for an adults-only wedding (with the exception of the wedding party).

Gifts

We genuinely just want to celebrate with you, and your attendance is more than enough. However, if you do insist, any donations towards our honeymoon fund would be greatly accepted.

Irish exit

The bride and groom hate goodbyes and want you to enjoy yourselves and be as happy as you can. We understand that different people have different energy levels and needs, so where possible we ask you to do a guilt-free Irish exit. It also gives us some extra time to enjoy the evening with everyone!

Where to stay & getting there

Transport

Trains to Faversham run from London Victoria (via Bromley South) and high speed from London St Pancras / Stratford International. There is no parking at the venue (except accessible parking).

Accommodation

There's a nice big new Premier Inn in Faversham (with free parking), around a 5 minute taxi ride to the town centre and venue. There are also several small pub B&Bs if you'd like to support local.

We ask that The Sun Inn is kept for close family and friends.

For the out of town people

Faversham is a cute market town, very close to some beautiful Kent towns. While you're here you might wish to make the most of it: we highly recommend Whitstable or Canterbury.
